Salute To Sir Lew - The Master Showman

On this day John was invited to perform a tribute for Sir Lew Grade, the current head of ATV. John "reprised" his performance on the 'Old Grey Whistle Test' (from just 10 days prior) by playing two oldies. He ended the show with 'Imagine', a fitting send off for his last ever live performance. The show was backed by 'The Brothers of Mother Fuckers', all dawning masks. Other acts included Julie Andrews, Peter Sellers, and Tom Jones.

'Slippin and Slidin' and 'Imagine' were broadcast on ABC on June 13th, but the only track physically released was 'Imagine' on 'The John Lennon Video Collection' DVD.
